VFW Post 688
Veterans Organization
VFW Post 688 was chartered in 1936 and carries the name of Private Bruno Phillip, a Boerne native killed in action during the Saint-Mihiel Offensive in World War I. The post counts more than 200 members spanning service from World War II to Operation Inherent Resolve and puts on more than 40 community events a year, from parades to remembrance ceremonies. It’s the kind of standing commitment to service this magazine tries to honor in pieces like Serving Where It Feels Like Home.
